I used to only be a savory breakfast girl. However, the older I've gotten, the more I've grown to love and appreciate a delicious pancake. I know that some people think cinnamon is only a fall or winter spice, but for me, I love cinnamon and will gladly eat it all year round. You can't convince me otherwise.

I'm about to share with you the best sweet pancake recipe. You don't necessarily have to use maple syrup with them because the pancake alone is enough of a treat. But I'm convinced that when you do, you'll be so glad that you did.

How to make Cinnamon Sugar Pancakes:

Ingredients you'll need:

  • All Purpose Flour (1 1/2 cups)

  • Sugar (2 Tablespoons)

  • Brown Sugar (1 Tablespoon)

  • Salt (1/2 teaspoon)

  • Baking Powder (2 teaspoons)

  • Baking Soda (1 teaspoon)

  • Cinnamon (1 Tablespoon) (Don't forget--I love cinnamon)

  • Sourdough Starter (About 1 cup)

  • Milk (1 cup or more depending on desired consistency)

-I've also used water when I ran out of milk

  • Eggs (2 Large eggs)

  • Vanilla (1 Tablespoon)

  • Melted Butter (3 Tablespoons)

Mexican Vanilla
My favorite vanilla--Vanilla straight from Mexico!

Tip:

-These pancakes are best when cooked in a stainless steel pan or a cast iron skillet. If you're needing a new set of Stainless Steel Pots and Pans, these are the ones I use!

-To ensure that your stainless steel pots and pans will be non-stick, you have to follow the right process! Make sure that your fan is fully heated before you ever add any oil. Once it's heated, add your oil. After the oil has melted, then add your batter and it won't stick to the pan.

-If you're looking for a set of new Measuring Cups and Spoons, this set is great!

Instructions:

  1. Whisk together all of your dry ingredients, then combine your wet ingredients (melted butter included). If your batter is too thick, feel free to add more liquid one tablespoon at a time.

  2. In a medium or large stainless steel pan, heat your pan to a medium heat. Once pan is fully heated, add enough butter to coat the bottom of the pan.

  3. After butter or oil is fully melted, add about 1/3 cup of batter to your pan and let sit until bubbles have formed. Once you see bubbles, flip your pancake. Continue this step until you've run out of batter.

Serve with maple syrup or eat on it's own. Whatever you decide, let me know below or tag me on Instagram! (@freerangefarmhouse)
