Homemade Green Bean Casserole | Create a classic without the canned soup

This is a classic for us around the holidays. If you can master making your own soup base, then this truly is the simplest recipe without a lot of time or work. You could mix and bake everything in one dish making for easy cleanup too! I promise you won't regret making your own homemade green bean casserole.


Green beans, cream base of soup, and fried french onions

How to make Homemade Green Bean Casserole:


Ingredients:

  • 4 Cups of Green Beans (fresh, frozen, or canned)

  • 12 ounces of your own soup base

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 teaspoon of pepper

  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder

  • 3 cups of French Fried Onions




Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. While oven is preheating, combine 4 cups of green beans, soup base, seasonings, and 2 cups of onions.

  3. Top with 1 cup of onion and bake for 30 minbutes or until bubbly.
